We strongly recommend that you lay down the grass turf as soon as it is delivered. However, if this is impossible, you should make sure that the sod is installed within 24 hours. It is also important to remember that during hot, dry periods in the summer the grass needs to be harvested, delivered and laid down very quickly. If you are unable to lay down all the sod on the same day, you should make sure you finish the work by the next day at the latest.
The interior of a roll of sod becomes extremely hot very quickly in the summer, and this could kill the sod.
You should start watering the sod as it is being laid down, rather than waiting until the entire lawn has been laid down before beginning the watering. For more information, click here.
