How high to cut your lawn?
When to mow your lawn?
Mowing time
For a new lawn, the first cut should be made about 1 to 2 weeks after the sod has been laid. During a heat wave, avoid mowing your lawn, because it is a stress that is added to the lack of water and heat.
The mowing height
The first time you cut your new grass, it is important to never mow more than 1/3 of the leaf. Afterwards, we advise you to keep a height of 3 inches, except for the Sport variety and Shaded variety. In fall and spring, mowing at 2 inches is optimal. In times of drought, a longer mowing (4 inches) is recommended. During prolonged heat waves, when the lawn goes dormant, it is best to avoid mowing altogether.
Mowing Tips
Make sure your mower blade is always sharp. Generally speaking, you should have your blade sharpened once a year.
